Notes: Lechón kawali involves boiling the processed meat, and then frying the pieces of pork in a pan.

Tanzania School Lunch - Ugali and Chicken

Notes: The ugali is the white mound, that looks like mashed potatoes. Ugali is a Swahili word for an East African dish which is a cornmeal product and a staple starch component of many African meals. It is commonly made from maize flour and water, and varies in consistency from porridge to a dough-like substance.

Also, based on the nice plates, I would assume this is a very nice, very expensive private school.

South Korea School Lunch - Rice and Bulgogi

Notes: The jello substance made with acorn flour seems a little strange to me. Can anyone describe it's taste?

Taiwan School Lunch - Soup and Rice

Notes: Not huge portions, but healthy and probably enough. Soup looks a little bland. What is it called? Is it any good?

Russia School Lunch - "Sardine Under Fur Coat"

Contents: "Sardine under fur coat," made from: sardines, boiled potatoes, boiled beet, fresh onion, some cheese, and parsley. In the far side of the picture you can see a vegetable salad, ingredients are: cabbage, carrot, parsley and salt).

Russia School Lunch - Boiled Buckwheat and Podliva



Country: Russia (Serpuhov, Serpuhovskoy Military Institute of Rocket Army)

Contents: Boiled buckwheat (aluminium bowl in the middle). Sugar (in the dish near the bowl closer to us). Podliva (in a dish near the bowl further from us). Poldiva is sort of like gravy. It's ingredients are: a) water b) fat c) 4-10 little pieces of canned stewed meat. One egg per person. Tea. Butter (on the right in the "triangle"). White bread. Black bread. Soup.
