Various school lunches from around the world. School lunch doesn't really represent the best a country has to offer, but we still love it, because we grew up on it.
The omelet looks like a tamagoyaki - rolled egg omelet. Commonly used in japanese bento lunches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamagoyaki
Making it is kind of an art form and I'd be pleased to find it in my child's lunch! http://lunchinabox.net/2007/07/10/making-tamagoyaki-or-dashimaki-tamago-omelettes/

the rolled egg omelet is called "gaeran mari" which means egg roll in korean. i know cuz i'm korean ^^
ReplyDeletein korean, it's spelled 계란말이.
계란말이 안에 김 아니면 시금치가 들어있는 것같습니다. It looks like there's "gim" and/or spinach inside the egg roll.
