What's the world coming to when we replace bread with fried chicken?
The new KFC Double Down sandwich is real and it's coming April 12th! This one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original Recipe® or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce. This product is so meaty, there’s no room for a bun!
The Double Down comes in two versions – Original Recipe® or Grilled and the nutrition information is below.

I gagged at my desk when I saw this.
ReplyDeleteIt would be EVEN BETTER (worse?) if it was a bacon cheeseburger with fried chicken for a bun. Come on, KFC, it's a no-brainer.
ReplyDeleteIt's super-fried chicken cordon bleu you eat with your hands. Geez.
ReplyDeleteGawd I hate KFC. And it is super popular here in Japan. My students go crazy for it and are shocked when I give them a sour face when they ask if I like it. Although I always get a kick when they ask me "Do you have Kentuky Fry in America too?".
ReplyDeleteIt is super expensive though. During Christmas time they have a special Kurisumasu Dinaa sets. One set it eight pieces of chicken, a salad, and a small cake for about $4000. No potaotes, no gravy, no coleslaw.
What it's coming to are a lot more fat behinds, and hearts set to fail.
ReplyDeleteI think KFC is more popular in Asia than it is in America because:
ReplyDelete1. The KFC in Asia actually taste better than the ones in America. I'm an Asian who lived in California for 4 years, I know.
2. There are way tastier chicken franchises in America.
3. When KFC first started in some countries in Asia, they were more of a sit down restaurant. You do order at the counter, but the food is served to you in plates and with cutlery. It was a big deal to go to KFC back then. I guess they did retain some of that allure in some places, even if it's all paper boxes now.

They've been selling this here in New Zealand since about 2003 now.... Makes me sick every year when they release it again
