Various school lunches from around the world. School lunch doesn't really represent the best a country has to offer, but we still love it, because we grew up on it.
USA School Lunch - Burrito and Pasta
Country: USA (Washington DC)
Contents: Burrito (made with lunch meat and processed cheese), broccoli, wheat noodles and chocolate milk.
Source: http://betterdcschoolfood.blogspot.com/2010/04/whats-for-lunch-turkey-ham-burrito.html Thanks Ed!
Notes: Is it just me, or does it look like they forgot to plan lunch, so they just threw a bunch of stuff together. Actually, that would be much better than if they actually planned this. Yuck.

at some public school in California, on the weekly lunch menu, one day is always called "Cook's Choice". It is a day when they offer everything left over from the week before, so the kids actually have lots of choices: taco, quesadilla, corn dog, etc., all served with the same fruit/veg choices and milk/choc. milk. Perhaps this was a "Cook's Choice" day at this school and they had to put weird combos together. ???
ReplyDeleteBurrito with noodles... never would have thought of that myself.
