Country: France

Contents: Chowder, water, pudding, couscous(?), and I'm not sure what the main dish is. Beef?

Source: ?

Notes: Healthy and delicious I'm sure. Probably totally unapetizing to the American school child's palate.

  1. Actually, it looks like some type of chicken/pork/meat??? with lentils or beans on the side....

  2. It looks like the stuff in the far left corner is some sort of barley salad. I agree with the previous comment that the main dish is probably some sort of poultry or maybe even rabbit with lentils on the side.

  3. I don't even *like* meat and that still looks tasty.

  4. The main dish is a classic called "petit salé." It's ham stewed with lentils and a lot of onion.

  6. Hi! I'm french. On the left corner, we have wheat salad. The main dish is lentils with, I think, rabbit (or chicken). We have some soup. For the dessert we have plain yoghurt, chocolate-vanilla cream (some kind of pudding as you said)or chocolate-vanilla mousse and two sweet butter biscuit (with chocolate?)...

  7. It's lentils. But the meat is salted pork I think (petit sale). That's a common combination
