USA School Breakfast - French Toast and Graham Crackers

Country: USA (Washington DC)

Contents: French toast, graham crackers, chocolate milk, apple juice.

Notes: That's a lot of carbs. Yeah, kids could certainly use the carbs to give them energy in the morning and jump start there metabolisms. That said, they could use some fruit and would be better off with normal milk. Mmm, milk and graham crackers.

  1. The latest study on the subject of what to eat in the morning found that carbs start the body down the wrong path, leading to metabolic disorders such as diabetes. Rather, breakfast should focus on healthful proteins and fats. Your body is perfectly capable of getting the energy it needs from fat.

  2. I am so glad I found this website! Can we rally for our kids and work to make these school meals healthier? Especially for our disadvantaged, poverty students? What will it take?

  3. Anon,

I think awareness is the first step. There are lots of great people out there trying to get the word out. I hope I can play a small part in that.
